Aero Tug Frisbee Review - in collaboration with Kids Around Dogs & Tug-E-Nuff

I was really excited to be asked to review the Tug-E-Nuff Aero Frisbee as part of the Kids Around Dogs Approved Products Scheme.

As someone who works with both dogs and children, I’m always interested in products that can encourage safe, enjoyable and positive interactions between them. So, I was particularly pleased to put the Aero Frisbee through its paces and see how it performed from both a professional and family perspective.

If you’re looking for a dog toy that combines fetch, tug and plenty of fun, the Tug-E-Nuff Aero Frisbee is definitely one worth considering.

I’ve been testing the Aero Frisbee with a variety of dogs and I’ve been really impressed with how versatile this toy is. It’s lightweight, durable, easy to use and, importantly, encourages force free play and interaction between dogs and people.

User-friendly

One of my favourite things about the Aero Frisbee is just how lightweight it is. It’s incredibly easy to throw, even for people who aren’t particularly confident with frisbees, and it glides really nicely through the air.

It also doubles up as a tug toy, giving you two ways to play with the same toy. The bungee elastic is a particularly nice feature as it helps absorb some of the impact during tugging, making play more comfortable for the person holding the toy.

It’s also easy to clean! The toy can be wiped down or put through the washing machine on a cool cycle, which is a huge bonus when you’re dealing with muddy, wet or slobbery dogs!

And for water loving dogs, the fact that it floats is another big win. No more watching your favourite toy disappear into the river. 

A professional view 

From a professional perspective, I think this is a really useful addition to a trainer or behaviour professional’s toy bag.

It provides lots of opportunities for interactive play and can be incorporated into training, enrichment and relationship building activities. Because it functions as both a frisbee and tug toy, it offers flexibility depending on the dog and what they enjoy.

It’s also lightweight enough that it’s easy to carry around between sessions, and the durability means I’d expect it to cope well with regular use.

 

Beneficial to clients, children and dogs

The Aero Frisbee is equally well suited to dog owners wanting something fun to use at home.

It’s a great way to encourage owners to play with their dogs rather than simply throwing a toy for them, helping to build engagement and interaction.

I also think the lightweight design makes it a good option for children to use when playing with dogs. However, as with any tug toy, the tugging element wouldn’t necessarily be appropriate for every child or every dog. This would depend on the child’s age, confidence and physical strength, as well as the size, strength and play style of the dog.

The frisbee element, however, is particularly easy for children to manage because of how light it is.

Force-free

The Aero Frisbee fits really nicely into a force free approach to training and play.

Play can be used as a positive reinforcer, as a way of building engagement, or simply as something enjoyable for the dog and their person to share together. There’s no need for pressure or force - the aim is simply to make play rewarding and enjoyable.

As always, it’s important to consider the individual dog and make sure the type and intensity of play is appropriate for them.

Value for money

At £24.95 at the time of this review, I think the Aero Frisbee offers good value for money.

You’re essentially getting a two in one toy that can be used for both fetch and tug, and the quality and durability mean I’d expect it to stand up to plenty of use.

For a professional using toys regularly, durability is particularly important, and this is an area where the Aero Frisbee has impressed me.

Quality and durability

Despite being incredibly lightweight, the material feels surprisingly durable and well made.

During testing, we had more than 30 minutes of overall play, including plenty of throwing, retrieving and enthusiastic thrashing about. Despite this, there were no visible teeth marks in the fabric.

Obviously, no dog toy is indestructible and suitability will depend on the individual dog, but I was genuinely impressed with how well it held up during testing.

Customer service

As always, Tug-E-Nuff’s customer service has been excellent.

Delivery was super quick, communication was great and the whole experience was exactly what I’d expect from a brand I’ve used before.

I also really like that Tug-E-Nuff provide owners with additional guides and support to help them get the most out of play. It’s not just about selling a toy -  they’re helping owners understand how to make play more enjoyable and engaging for their dogs.

Eco-friendly

Another big plus for me is Tug-E-Nuff’s focus on sustainability.

The brand offers a repair service for toys, helping to extend their lifespan and reduce unnecessary waste. They also use sustainable materials and plastic-free packaging.

As someone who is increasingly conscious of the environmental impact of the products I use and recommend, this is a huge positive.

Overall verdict

Overall, I really like the Tug-E-Nuff Aero Frisbee.

It’s lightweight, durable, versatile and genuinely fun to use. It works brilliantly as both a frisbee and a tug toy, floats in water, is easy to clean and is suitable for a wide range of play environments.

From a professional perspective, I can see lots of potential for using it within training and behaviour work, while for owners it provides a really simple way to add more interactive play into their dog’s day.

The durability particularly impressed me, given how lightweight the toy is, and Tug-E-Nuff’s commitment to sustainability is another reason I’d be happy to recommend it.

Does it meet expectations? Absolutely -  and I’d say it goes beyond them.
